Leather

The Roman Empire used it considerably for its legions, especially for the manufacture of

footwear and protections. The material could be shaped easily and offered great durability,

making it a very valuable for the Empire. The sale of “Corium” was based in the city of Rome

through leather and fur traders from the Ostia harbour. Because of its value, it was one of the

main reasons of the Carthage War.
