Brioche
The brioche originated from France, where the word was first documented in 1404. It is a traditional Norman recipe. The brioche is made with flour, eggs, sugar
and butter. For this reason, the brioche was typical
of the upper social classes.
Does the phrase “If they don’t have
bread, let them eat brioche” ring a bell?
Myth has it that this was the answer of Marie Antoinette when the people of France protested that they had
no bread and were hungry.
